Tokyo's Boxing Ring recently changed hands, being passed on from NTO to new owner LyKan after the latter won a competition on who could think of the most disgusting 2 things to mix. This change of ownership hasn't hurt the agenda of the ring: Already, former owner and Godfather of Tokyo NTO has opened signups for a Boxing Competition featuring a grand first prize of 1 million IJ dollars.
So far, mainly Tokians have signed up to be a fighter, your reporter being among the first, but the signups are still open and the competition might turn international.
Your reporter went over to the signup booth at the Boxing Ring, where a long line of people are eagerly waiting to put their name on the list. We asked two of the aspiring fighters a few questions:
The IJ Times: You signed up for the TK Boxing Competition. How would you rate your changes in the comp?
OneShot: "bloody high mate. higher than the sky tower. I think ill knock anyone flat on their ass. Like tua did to cameron. except ill knock tua out by just looking at him."
What was your motivation for signing up?
"Motivation? Being number one. Having my nuts grow harder while i box is what motivates me."
The IJ Times: You signed up for the Boxing Comp. Do you think you have a shot at reaching the finales?
Majeh: " Honestly I don't think anyone can be sure what the future will hold for them. Will I make it to the finals? I don't know, but one thing you can be sure of is that I'll give it my all."
I heard of people getting involved in street fights as a training for the big tourney. Are you going to take special preparations for the boxing tournament?
"Oh yes I will be training though how I plan on doing that I shall keep secret."
So as the competitors are gearing up for the tournament, the TK Boxing Ring is preparing for one of it's biggest events in a while. A huge number of spectators is expected, and the betting office will probably be running extra hours to process all the people willing to take a chance at making some money. NTO was willing to give away a short interview:
The IJ Times: What compelled you to set up a boxing tournament?
NTO: "I just gave away the boxing club as first prize in a competition. i said i will arrange a tournament and front some prizes get some new faces into the club."
Do you expect the tournament to draw a lot of signups?
"I am hoping to get at least 16 entries."
Do you think there will be a lot of fighters from abroad?
"I am not sure, all foreign fighters are weak anyway. The best fighters come from Tokyo :p"
When will the tournament start?
"21st/22nd"
