It's sunset in Rome, arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The architecture reflecting the suns rays create a very peaceful scene. But behind the scenes there are always men and women there keeping people safe… or unsafe. In these turbulent times many cities have had dead littering the streets, the culprits walking away without fear of retribution. On this peaceful evening Rome is quiet. In fact Rome has been quiet for a while now. And no matter what your views on the methods used to create this safety, no one could argue against the effectiveness of them.
It is this evening that i have been given a brief but eye opening view into the workings behind the world, and the words behind the man. Maximus Decimus Meridius, is the City Leader of rome, with his team. And I have managed to get for you a short interview with the man behind the tommy gun.

Chapter 1:
New York in December. Two words, bloody cold! I stood there on the sidewalk waiting for my brother, who as always, was late. I watched the darkened sky above me as a winter storm loomed and snow threatened. I would give him five or maybe ten more minutes and then I would leave. John was not as dependable as he used to be. I decided a while back not to ask any questions about what he did or how he suddenly became wealthy in a matter of months. I really did not need to know or get involved, but I had my suspicions. Coming from the past that we did, I could guess quite well. I had come here from London to get away from my father's line of work, my mother being Italian-American and ever the professional businesswoman, did not like the choice to stay out of the family business. I looked at my watch again, ten minutes was almost up.
Being a mortician, I knew the people who would pay big money to smuggle drugs in bodies that were being returned to their homelands. I had done it a few times. Clearly, my older brother had not caught wind of that one. At least I hoped he hadn't. That could be a problem, it was something he would tell my parents and they would go back to fighting over me. Something I did not want, I'd seen enough of their fighting to last me a lifetime.
I looked across the street, some movement had caught my attention. A man, probably in his mid twenties, stood against the wall of the building there. He was not built very big, no extreme physique, but something about him, made you think of power. He leaned against the wall, smoking a cigarette and looking formidable. My instincts told me he was a dealer of some kind. What link in the chain he was, that was a little harder to discern. By the way he was standing and his demeanor, he was more than simply a dealer. He looked like someone who demanded attention. I was in the middle of contemplating the person across the street when John walked up behind me.
“You make a nice target, sis.”, John’s voice was rough and somehow quiet simultaneously, years of cigarette smoking had left a rasp in his voice.
I spun around to face him, and he was smiling, “How long have you been standing there?”
“Long enough to notice you staring at that guy like you’ve never seen a man before.”, Now he was snickering.
“I was not. I was just trying to figure out what he was up to over there.”, I looked back across the street. The man, now staring at John and me, caught and held my gaze for a moment. When he looked away, I looked at John.
“You don’t need to know what he’s up to. It’s really none of our business.” John, usually fun and laid back, suddenly got a little darker and colder.
I was still trying to put my confusion away for later when John grabbed my arm and lead me away from where we were standing. He took us along the street and down toward the restaurant to which we were supposed to be going. I realized something was wrong when John’s grip on my arm tightened. I pulled away from him and stopped.
“What is wrong with you? What the hell are you doing?”
John looked around nervously, “I’m trying to protect you. Now, come on, let’s go.”
“No. You will just get me hurt by not telling me, so out with it.” I stood staring at him, not willing to back down.
Emotions ran across his face, I was not sure exactly which ones, but I still refused to back off the subject. If he were involved with someone or something that was not very good, then not telling me what to look for would be dangerous for me. I was not ready to be used as leverage in a game I did not play.
"John, if you don't tell me what's going on, I swear I will turn around and walk the other way. I will not play mind games or be kept in the dark. That's what happened last time and our family paid dearly for it."
“Let’s just go to dinner. I will tell you then. I don’t like being out in the open . . . too dangerous.” John turned away from me and started walking.
I heard a sharp sound, one I recognized from long ago. I stopped dead. John turned fast. He had a gun locked, loaded and aimed before I could blink. He stood straight and still, aiming at the shadows just to my right. I was in the middle, between my brother’s gun and the other person.
‘I am going to die . . . ’ I thought, ‘What a way to get involved . . . ’
John’s gaze flickered to me, he knew I was in a precarious position. If he fired, I was dead. Most likely the other armed person was aiming at me. I had become leverage . . . something with which to bargain. I took deep breaths and tried to calm myself. It’s not every day I get a gun pointed at the back of my head. I tried to keep the memories of the past from flooding my mind, but they came anyway. Hugo's face, Prima's laugh... Erik's ever present smile. All gone. All dead. I snapped myself out of it, it would only hurt to remember, and hurting was not what I needed right now.
I heard the person behind me shuffle a little, getting restless. I wanted to move too but was afraid of the consequences of the action itself. So I listened to him instead, focusing on the sound of him, I discerned where he was at. I kept my attention on him, the sounds of his breathing, the shuffles of his shoe soles on the pavement. Every noise punctuated and clear in my ears.
I could only think of my obituary in tomorrow’s paper; Local Mortician Dies in Gang War . . . Lovely, I looked at John. His attention still on the man just behind me and off to my right, he caught my gaze for a split second and it was enough. I ducked and simultaneously John fired. A yelp and then a sickening thud sounded behind me.
I looked behind me and the body of a young man lay crumpled on the ground. Blood was spilling out from underneath him and bubbling out of his mouth. Strange, I had been a Mortician for a long time, and I had never seen someone actually kill someone else. Dead people were dead people. Almost all the same but I was watching this man die, watching him first sputter and twitch, then the light left his eyes and they became glazed and blank . . . He grew pale as the heat left his body, the blood draining away from the surfaces of his skin, the veins in his face turned gray and in a matter of moments I was looking at what I always saw. A dead body.

The gangs in the world are gaining more and more strength, 2 Godfathers are living side to side in peace.

Recently Grief has moved to Tokyo and started his own crime family, making it now 3 crime

families in Tokyo which hold the city and at least 1 crime family in each of the other cities. The world is so full of gangsters that Grief doesnt have any members to invite to his gang.
whats going on with the world? If we all start to join crime families and become gangsters - someone needs to be the victim.
The end is not bright for the legitimate and not legitimate citizens of the world, booring and dark days are going to come. Maybe this is the time that a war is realy needed? Usualy crime families whould rize and fall constantly, new oportunities for new gangsters to reach the top would emerge. now that the gangster over regulating the world the future shows nothing good.
At first I thought its only my opinion but soon I understood that many people are sharing it with me, including gang members that just go by the way of - "if you cant beat them - join them".
Is it a time for a change? May we find that sometimes war can be a good thing?
The world shought be free from all the rigulation and overpowering by people who thing they can play it God, maybe something should be done... Maybe we should grow some balls and make our life interesting? break some rulls? shake the things up?
I say ENOUGH!!

The stage was set. IJ had its old newspaper back, and it had a dedicated couple of people working on it. Articles trickled in, some of quality, some... not so good. Nevertheless, tales of muggings, interviews with crews and general gossip filled the paper; coming from sources far and wide.
In running, people say there is a point where runners have given their all and they feel like they just have to stop, as if they had run into a brick wall. I am sad to report, that this may indeed be the brick wall for the ijtimes.
Recent articles have come from Sydney, but the quality of these reports is admittedly low, with the editors being forced to publish as there are no other writers who have bothered submitting things to the paper.
The new underground ijvfans site ijplanet.tk ran a thread called 'IJTimes or SydneyTimes?', which was a stab at the flood of sydney reports, and asked if sydney were using the IJTimes to gain a higher population.
I put it to the IJ world, that you should not complain about the city being over reported, if you haven't got the time or the patience or even the skill to write and submit your own.
I put it to the IJ world, that the standards of writing have slipped so dramatically from the predecessors of this paper, that the appeal of writing in the paper has slipped.
Therefore I put it to the IJ world that the only way to raise standards and balance the reporting playing field of the IJTimes is to write the best articles you possibly can and submit them to us. Instead of moaning about the problem, try working towards the solution.

Contracts Galore

Today a moderately known Parisian lawyer by the name of Gibby was brutally murdered. Though the police have yet to identify any suspects and no person has come forward to claim the action as there own, much ado has spawned of this controversy. Allow this reporter to take you to the beginning. It all started on a brisk morning, and all that is know of the eye witness account is that Gibby had taken his Dog for a walk. He and Borden crossed paths and this is where things took a turn for the worse. All that is known is that somewhere in the next 5 minutes Borden was savagely attacked by Gibby's pup. What is not known however is whether Gibby ordered this to happen, or Borden was allowing the puppy to play with him and things got out of hand. Both parties disagree on the matter, however Gibby was found dead in an alleyway shortly after Borden was released from the hospital. After this it is said that much talk and speculation was going on over this encounter and a young, very wealthy, friend of Gibby's overheard much of the conversation and selected a few to blame for the rumors now spreading like wildfire. Within hours the criminal underground was flooded with contracts ranging through all walks of life, the most lucrative of which is on a not very well known Doctor by the name of Rednav. It is rumored that Rednav himself bid on the contract for his own life just to find out who placed it and in doing so issued a challenge to the man. This challenge, although still on the table, seems to have been disregarded by the yet-unknown friend of Gibby as a taunting of sorts. Though none of these supposed calls for death of Gibby's nay-sayer's has reportedly been fulfilled, one question has yet to be answered. What is to happen when the people catch wind of this young man? This reporter only shudders to think about how the general populace could feel about such audaciously misguided attempts on people's lives, but waits with bated breath to see the outcome. I've been overwhelmingly bored lately and just recently decided to stop complaining about the paper and start trying to change it. I'm hoping some of my friends who feel the same way will use this paper to share thoughts about the state of things. I was going to write this in the world wide thread but I realized I'd have to talk in character and hop out my car and on a state and everything. Actually, that's a great topic to start with.
Does anyone else feel that we've lost world wide communication by the strict rules and regulations on the World forum? I do agree that most of those threads were retarded and deserved being deleted, and it's great to see people Role playing though it's really not my thing. (Or anyones except a few people) Now I suggest fixing that would be creating a "whatever the fuck you want world thread". So people can have there 3 word games, rap threads, or any other news. Ever once in a while a good thing would pop up in that thread. Maybe explaining why someone got shot, or just seeing something funny posted would break some of the stale pace injustice is in right now. I've even wrote a few RP threads and whenever I asked a friend if he saw it and what he thought they'd say " i never look in that shit" . Right Philly?
Now I don't visit the world wide thread and even if i did I could tell you exactly whats in there, a bunch of people just talking about serving drinks to each other and stuff. That's cool if that's your thing but I think there should be a option for those of us that just want to write something normal and not in character. Which would be catering to the majority of injustice, lets face is for some reason people who play IJ are not hardcore roleplayers. Maybe thats how it was long ago but it's not now and I don't see a change heading in that direction.
I was going to talk about how much it sucks having so many tanks scared to take people out and throw some excitement into the game but I'll save all that for another article. For now it's back to earning I guess...Peace.
War? Let's not. - An opinion

In a recent article an anonymous writer called for a war. In this writer's opinion, there are too many gangsters in the world. A war would be ideal to solve that little problem.
Why does this writer view these gangsters as a problem? The writer states that with so many gangsters, the legits will be the victim. I wonder how the writer came to that conclusion. How are legits the victim of this situation? It's a well known fact that almost all legits have odd jobs on the side aiding gangsters in their criminal activities, and they make a nice dollar out of it too. Think about it: would morts in your town be living in Penthouses and wearing purple velvet jackets if there wasn't a crime family around to provide them with some extra work? Perhaps the writer never wondered why all those bodies are shipped around the world from the city docks.
Perhaps the writer meant being the victim of aggravated crimes. This shouldn't be a problem: gangsters are the victim of crimes as often as legit people are, and if there's more gangsters, they will take the bulk of these aggs.
The writer also makes a statement that the crime lords are overregulating things. I disagree. I'm not 100% up to date on how other cities regulate their affairs, but in Tokyo everything seems to be taken care of pretty well. A city needs regulation, otherwise things would get out of control. Now if combined with a proper set of stimulation programs, the well-known incentives, the average legit citizen can make a pretty penny.
Crime families are a vital part of a city's economy. So much even, that the economy of a city with a family is referred to as a "fully developped economy," as opposed to for example a "post-reset economy," a situation where a city lacks the massive income from drug trade because a crime family has not yet been set up shortly after a reset.
We have 2 Godfathers working together to keep things runnings, and the world should be grateful for this balance of power. Cities can develop and prosper, and anyone causing chaos and disorder is dealt with quickly. It's been a long tme since I felt this safe walking around in this world of InJustice.

Lethal conflict rocks NY and LD
Tuesday, 02 February 2010 23:31
JohnnyStar
A conflict last week on january 28th left multiple people dead and turned around a city. How the ancient tale of revenge led to SaintSinner leading London:
It started when Kurogane, a Paris enforcer and by many known under the nickname Skukz took out New York citizen SexRex in Paris, who appeared to be inactive. Normally not a problem, but had Kurogane, at the time under the influence of marihuana, looked further he could have discovered that SexRex was merely on vacation: he left a holiday note in his quote. Still, the situation could have been minor, were it not that SexRex was a close friend of Wyse, Don and New York city leader. Soon enough, Wyse contacted Kurogane to get some answers about the killing. The content of the message was unclear for a while. NTO spoke of "a few words to skukz", while Kurogane said: "He threatened me, in a message, and I don't just take that shit."
Wyse let us know the following about the message: "Well I was pretty angry when I found out that SexRex was murdered. Immediatly I set out to find who did it. The evidence led back to Skukz, and I sent a very angry message to him. I called him a few names which probably made him angry. I owed Skukz a favor, and me not whacking him was the favor returned. I made it very clear in more than one message, I wasnt going to fight him over it."
Kurogane however was ready to fight and decided to move to New York, torch Wyse's apartment, and attempt to take his life. The favor was quickly returned by Wyse: "I left for NY again to resume my daily business, and all of a sudden Skukz comes at me with his hands. I had to retaliate, I pulled out my tommy and blasted him. An hour later, I hear a bullet wizz past my ear, and there is Narco looking through a scope at me."
Narco was a London Don, de facto city leader there, out to avenge Kurogane. NTO took action: "Narco wanted revenge for Skukz, and went to whack Wyse. He (Wyse) had done nothin wrong but defend himself, so I put an end to Narco. He should have known better, being a member of the Round Table."
London
All this violence did have some positive results though. After Narco was whacked the city of London was left behind with a power vacuum. As mentioned before, Narco was de facto city leader there, but daily affairs like auth and incentives were not being taken care of. The power vacuum was an ideal situation for change. NTO recognized this situation and sent over SaintSinner to lead London and help run it. SaintSinner: "After NTO killed Narco there wasnt anyone to take over. I didnt get the why of Narco being shot... but the other day NTO just simply asked if I would take over London and help run it."
A team of 4 was formed consisting of SaintSinner, LeVan, Brisk, and lorrie, prominent London citizens. So far, it seems the solution can count on broad popular support. Lorrie: "Saintsinner is overall head, while the rest take care of the daily running of auths and things. Theres an incentive thread, new and better rules, auths regularly updated, I think we got the city behind us but it is still early days."
Blood has been shed, but it seems that the game of revenge and murder has left London in a better position. Events can have unpredictable outcomes in the world of InJustice.

The Great Propaganda Machine

Sydney has been making international headlines and is being promoted as the place to be, but this reporter investigates deeper to see a side of the city its leaders do not want you to see.
Tightening the straps of my bullet proof vest I watch out over the beautiful Sydney harbour from the safety of my hotel room. A knock on the door lets us know our guide to dark dirty streets of the Sydney underworld has arrived.
Talking to Sydney citizens it is not long before I find out the truth about the current state of Sydney, with the clean image given in the paper gives way to murderous treachery and poor leadership. One of the latest incidents is the botched handling of Selene’s murder. In the wake of the tragedy the criminal scum of the city saw opportunity. Easily compromising the intelligence on the murder, the naive leaders rashly took the life of another innocent Blind Gecko who was later cleared innocent of any involvement. Only after the protest of blindgecko innocence after his death did the leaders see through the web of lies. This is only one of Sydney’s troubles.
Recently Boo908 was horrifically murdered for being to being too enthusiastic about life in the injustice world, and being too willing to try and help this city. Through an unnamed source we were able to get copies of the crime scene photos. The murder is one of the most violent, shocking, and cold blooded kills this side of the reset.
Sydney’s troubles do not rest with just murders, talking to local shopkeepers Armed Robberies and common, leaving them poor and struggling to make ends meet. One who did not want to be named as they feared repercussion said he has lost over half a million dollars over the past week and a half.
Lastly you may be aware of the incident involving the toppling of honourable mayor Tweak. Tweak was unwilling to comment, but it is believed that proper care was not taken in appointing a commander, which led to chaos in the city during the hours following.
So this reporter asks does this really sound safe? Do citizens really want easily manipulated leaders who act rashly without consequence? Leaders who do not take the time needed to appoint the right people? I say no, and write this article to help counter the propaganda machine which is the Sydney leadership.
